I had taken some sandals to Cannery Shoe Repair for an alteration. It was a change in how the shoes fastened. It took a few tries to find a solution, but a solution was found and it was a fabulous job. Just a great bunch of people and I am very happy with the final product. Thanks for all of your effort on my behalf!.....Shelley

I found the owner, Fred, quite unpleasant to interact with, my enquires/concerns were met with hostility and a combative attitude. And to top it off, very lousy quality of work, in fact, ended up damaging my boots ...[1st picture shows the boot I dropped off, 2nd picture shows the zipper repair] firstly, before installing new zipper wouldn't you remove all the loose threads so your not sewing over them resulting in a very messy looking repair, which honestly looks as though it's already unraveling? Also, is it too much to ask that the bobbin thread match the top thread, considering they're black boots it shouldn't be that hard....&for $100 price tag I would hope you could at least stitch in a straight line! [Also this repair took a total of three whole months!]

I had the pleasure today of dealing with Fred at Cannery Shoe Repair, where he tweaked a pair of tall leather boots I dropped off last week. The boots were in somewhat poor condition, and he said he would do what he could to try to make them look better. When I picked them up today I was simply amazed at how wonderfully they turned out. They look new! I would highly recommend Fred for any shoe repair needs! He's kind, professional and honest. Thank you!

I've been taking my shoes and boots to Cannery Shoe Repair for years. The photos are a pair of boots that had a half sole replaced, and same with a pair of flats. They make it so your shoes can last a lifetime instead of one or maybe two years! I also take my stilettos there for new tips. All leather footwear comes back even shinier than when I bought them in the first place! Highly recommended - this business is amazing and will save you thousands of dollars because you won't have to replace your classic footwear!!

They lost my very expensive pair of boats that were made in portugel. I paid in advance for the repair and waited a couple weeks. When I didnt hear back from them I called than went into the shop. When I arrived they tried giving me someone elses boots which were not even close to my boots value or quality. My boots were stolen or given away to someone else. When I asked for my money back I was accused of having a friend pick up my boots. Adventualy I got my repair money back. Although they did nothing to compensate for my $250 pair of boots. I will never recommend this company to any of my friends. Thus happened a couple years ago but due to the sentemental value of the boots this story has hunted me for years and every time I look at the store I get very upset.

** please read to the end for reply to the owner ***I wish had read the reviews before I took my beautiful MK boots in for a simple zipper replacement. I didn’t even want to leave one star but can’t post otherwise! When you drop them off in Penticton they end up in Oliver with someone who clearly doesn’t know what she is doing. After repeated attempts to pick up my boots, they still do not have a working zipper and more importantly they are ruined. She blamed it on someone working for her and promised to fix them which was a lie. When I called her she said “leave them with me” which is all I ever hear her say. As if I would give her another chance to butcher them any more!!! I will try to include pictures of them, but the stitching looks even more horrendous than the picture previously posted. Save yourself a lot of grief and go elsewhere.***as for the owners reply below, another lie!!! I did BUY them on Marketplace but they were in perfect shape other than the zipper split. And you DID NOT try to decline! How can you lie like that?? Shame on you.Others have commented similar problems, you can’t lie your way out of all of them!!! ***

We have visited the Penticton, British Columbia Cannery Shoe Repair on three (3) different occasions just to find a staff member available but unable to perform any work. It appears that the owner of this establishment only works on very limited hours. I must confess that I do not appreciate trying to support a business where the owner does not seem to care about customers. The owner may do good work but I have not been able to confirm that because he is not available.
